Halo: Reach 360 Bundle Announced![]() At Comic-Con today, Microsoft revealed a Limited Edition Halo: Reach bundle, packing two controllers with an Xbox 360 Slim, all in special silver casings, for $399. RAGE, developed by id Software, is a post-apocalyptic shooter based on John Carmack’s mega-texture graphics method, which specifically makes “textures” “mega”. It’s out next year for PC, 360 and PS3. Kotick frustrated at existing Xbox Live business model![]() Activision CEO Bobby Kotick would like to break the walled gardens of online console services like Xbox Live. The executive told the Financial Times he’s frustrated by existing business models that see companies like Microsoft benefiting most from the success of online third party content, such as that released for Activision’s Call of Duty series. Play.com has posted a set of technical specifications for Microsoft's upcoming motion-control peripheral, Kinect. Interestingly, it says only two "active" players can be tracked at any one time. While the camera can track "up to six people", it can only handle two "active players" at a time, relegating the rest to support roles at best, and idle spectators at worst. Asking for six players at once may have been a pipe dream, but with the Wii supporting four players, a limit of two "active players" will be a let-down to owners upgrading and expecting the whole family to be able to play at once.
