During gameinformer's trip to visit BioWare they were afforded a few quick looks at Dragon Age II in progress. Not only were they able to see how video, audio, and animation were coming along, but they also got a close look at the evolving combat gameplay. At Comic-Con today, Microsoft revealed a Limited Edition Halo: Reach bundle, packing two controllers with an Xbox 360 Slim, all in special silver casings, for $399. A copy of the game is also included. It's available Sept. 14.

Leakerz has managed to obtain off-screen footage of the Deus Ex: Human Revolution demo shown at E3 last month.

This was actually from ScrewAttack originally, but it doesn’t seem to be carrying the videos any more.

The footage shows an electric cross bow, gambling on some kind of holographic shooting game, using remote-controlled vehicles in corridors, indoor and outdoor on-foot combat, vehicular desert combat, corridor enemies jumping up walls, an AK, a semi-auto shotgun, some kind of throwing blade thing and tons more.

RAGE, developed by id Software, is a post-apocalyptic shooter based on John Carmack’s mega-texture graphics method, which specifically makes “textures” “mega”. It’s out next year for PC, 360 and PS3.

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick would like to break the walled gardens of online console services like Xbox Live.

The executive told the Financial Times he’s frustrated by existing business models that see companies like Microsoft benefiting most from the success of online third party content, such as that released for Activision’s Call of Duty series.

Speaking in its post-NPD statement last night, Microsoft said the Slim 360 it introduced at E3 is a hit at retail.

Play.com has posted a set of technical specifications for Microsoft's upcoming motion-control peripheral, Kinect. Interestingly, it says only two "active" players can be tracked at any one time.

While the camera can track "up to six people", it can only handle two "active players" at a time, relegating the rest to support roles at best, and idle spectators at worst. Asking for six players at once may have been a pipe dream, but with the Wii supporting four players, a limit of two "active players" will be a let-down to owners upgrading and expecting the whole family to be able to play at once.
